Last month's Spring Sale was well received and my thanks for the buys, bids and stock orders that ensued. Also, while there is no obligation to return cards etc, thanks to all those who do so, as it all helps. Some interesting material came to light this month which included some beautiful Andorra. From memory, we have also added to Cambodia & Laos (used), Lebanon, French India, Wallis & Futuna, Togo (used), Belgian Congo & Ruanda-Urundi. The new influx of covers proved popular and I'm glad to say that another batch is within these pages. You may note that we have added a number of new Collections to that section at the front which should prove of good value. At least there is no "buyers premium" to pay. I notice that Auction Houses throughout the UK appear to be lifting their Buyers Premiums, or should I say stretching them to ridiculous heights. Many charge 30% extra (+VAT) on top of the hammer price which I think is outrageous. Especially when the material on sale may actually be owned by the auctioneers themselves. That BP rate mainly applies to the "Antiques & Collectables" auction houses with the philatelic ones being a little kinder. As you may tell, buyers premiums are one of my pet-hates and should, by law be banned or even just limited to 10%. When the Hammer Drops, that should be the price to pay, as it always was in the far distant past. The seller should bear all the commission. Having got that off my chest, I hope you enjoy the content and find some interesting stuff in this sale. Terry Garcia.
